Diy Boat Anchor Winch
Toyota wiper motor fabricated to retrieve anchor.. I have 3 of these anchor setups on my 34' pontoon boat, and my homemade modified portable anchor winch has not let me down in 2 years. and i use my boat a minimum of 2-4 days a week in summer and 1-3 days a week in winter. rain or shine, hot or snowing! if its slightly windy out or nasty i zip down and button my canvas sides on my "cabin".. Parallel switch at the front of the boat, so i can control the winch whilst standing in the hatch if necessary. i use the reverse feature of the drill to drop anchor.

Ok my anchor winch which is a maxwell 800now inside the unit is a little piece of plastic that keeps the rope pressed in against the gypsy and stops it from bunching up inside, it has at one end a plastic pin that slides into a hole now it and the spare has died with the little plastic pin snapping off and the plastic beiing spat out on the deck.
